…and we’re back!

Apologies for being MIA. I felt I didn’t have anything fashionable to write about all summer but Season 5 of Gossip Girl just premiered and while I don’t really care who’s getting married or who’s pregnant, I am currently drooling over Blake Lively Serena van der Woodsen’s fun LA wardrobe.

Here’s what I loved:

I wish I had better pictures of this pink and yellow dress. I think it was my favourite outfit of the episode. It’s by Mike Gonzalez (in case you were wondering) and the iconic bag in green is Lous Vuitton but that, you should already know.

What can I say… I love turquoise and purple. I love that black clutch. And I love how the bright colours have been paired with these nude Azzedine Alaia shoes. While we’re at it, I also love Chace Crawford… but I’ll save that for another post.

Please sir, can I have some more?

One word: Pottermore.

I am in two minds about J. K. Rowling’s new venture. I love the Harry Potter series and I’m not sure how I feel about the direction she’s taking with Pottermore. How different will it be from the limitless fan fiction sites currently littering the internet? But that’s a whole different debate.

What I love is the video itself; the book literally comes to life. It’s a visual treat. Trust me. Did I mention I love it? I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen this video for the gorgeous stop-motion paper sculptures alone. Watch it here:

Newsprint Manicure (Everyday I’m Stumblin’)

I like news, typography, manicures and nail polish so obviously I love this:

I stumbled upon it (no, literally) on Pinterest (it’s like Twitter for pictures!) and it seems like this idea has been floating around the internet for a while now.

I still haven’t had the chance to try it out for myself. It looked pretty impossible at first but then I stumbled upon (yes) this great tutorial. The technique sounds easy enough but I have a feeling it’ll be a lot tougher than it looks.

I promise I will do this soon. Expect step-by-step pictures at some point. Hopefully it won’t be a disaster!

90210: Wardrobe Appreciation

Once again, I’ve seen a dress on TV that I love/want/need.

I watch 90210 every week without fail and the only reason I’m admitting to it is this:

This sari-inspired dress was worn by AnnaLynne McCord’s character, Naomi Clarke, during the big fat Indian wedding that was the 90210 season finale.

From the little information I could gather, it was custom made by the show’s wardrobe department so unfortunately, this is not a dress that I can buy.

A Royal Affair

Can we please talk about Pippa Middleton’s gorgeous dress at the royal wedding? Pippa Middleton’s dress was gorgeous. She was gorgeous.

The dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, the same designer who was responsible for the bride’s wedding gown. Incidentally, Pippa’s outfit featured the same button detail and lace trims as the bride’s ivory dress.

And I want it.

I have a feeling the back of her dress has somehow risen to fame. This might have something to do with it. I kinda liked the front though.
